Chimpnest Safari Lodge, on the edge of Kibale Forest National Park, is a haven perfectly situated for a chimp trekking adventure. Densely forested, our African fig trees are a favorite of the chimps who not only dine on their fruit in season, but often even use our trees for their nightly nesting.

Simon Tumuhimbise, Chimpnest’s founder, proprietor and all around guardian angel, has been passionate about Uganda’s forests and savannas and their denizens since his childhood adventures. With over fifteen years of experience as a safari guide, not only in Uganda but also in Rwanda and other neighboring African countries, Simon knows well what makes a lodge great.
